Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. It is the most important holiday in China, and it is also widely celebrated in South Korea, Vietnam, and countries with a significant overseas Chinese population.

Traditional dishes include: whole fish, dumplings, tangerine and oranges, noodles and spring rolls

 

Vaisakhi

Vaisakhi, also pronounced Baisakhi, marks the first day of the month of Vaisakha and is usually celebrated annually on 13 or 14 April as the solar new year. It is additionally a spring harvest festival in the Punjab.

Traditional dishes include: pindi chana, gulab jamun, jalebi, and gur ka halwa

 

Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.

Traditional dishes include: dates, samosas, tabule, and lentil soup

 

Diwali

Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartika.

Traditional dishes include: samosas, bhindi masala, gulab jamun, kalakand, fried eggplant, paneer kadhi masala
